Axis Bank in partnership with NASSCOM, is conducting a virtual Hackathon on 30th and 31st May 2015. Innovators and developers have the unique challenge to gamify financial technology solutions, using the power of its digital platforms/API’s on the mobile channel. Axis Bank is in search of developers and designers who can help improve the personal banking experience of customers on mobile. The contest is open to both small/large tech companies and small individual developers. The rewards in total are worth ₹15 lakh.

The challenge quoted on the official description reads: To deliver next-gen customer experience and transform the way individual and institutions engage with money!

A few suggested topics for the competition are listed below. Do note that these are just suggestions and the contest is not limited to these themes.

  1. Customer engagement and delight through gamification of app navigation:
    For example, gamify certain parts of the app such as the customer on-boarding, account opening experience, instant fund transfers, banking on Sundays and public holidays, instant recharges, etc.
  2. Mobile app penetration through gamification on the app:
    Increase the mobile app usage and divert the customers from web/offline channels over to the Axis Bank mobile app – this can be achieved through customer log-in on the app through social media integration, intuitive navigation basis a customer’s social media profile can be explored.
  3. Increasing app penetration beyond youth and urban segments:
    For eg., improving the user experience through linguistics, font/visualization for different consumer cohorts.
