I follow the famous internet sleuth Supperannuation on Twitter, and recently I came across a tweet about the possible development of Grand Theft Auto 5. There was a full-fledged casting recruitment for a project called “Rush,” which might be the codename of GTA V.

It’s not uncommon for video games to have codenames. GTA IV at one point of production was codenamed Frozen.

What makes this product, Rush, suspicious is that its cast consists of typical GTA-like characters, like stereotyped pot heads, weed dealers, typical American capitalist car dealers, neurotic soccer moms, etc. It was rumored previously that GTA V might be set in Los Angeles, or, as the GTA world would call it, Los Santos. Thus, Rush’s casting of these California stereotypes backs this rumor. It is a strong possibility.

Well, we have seen Los Santos in GTA: San Andreas, and yes, we did enjoy the heck outta it! So again, the sound of GTA V being based in Los Santos does send shivers of nostalgia.

Out of context, I’m sure many of you would agree with me. Isn’t the GTA series the best? As in the best package? The best and most fun gameplay?  The best production? The best storyline? The best characters? Yes, it is!

I LOVE GTA.
