Courtesy the free-falling Indian Rupee against the American Dollar, the price for upcoming GTA V has been hiked yet again.

Grand Theft Auto V is going be to sold in two variants, Standard Edition for Rs. 2,799/- and Special Edition for Rs. 3,299/-. The new hiked prices are Rs. 3,299 and Rs. 3,999, respectively.

GTA V is not the first game to have its prices hiked in the recent rupee-falling weeks. Last week, Sony announced price hikes for their upcoming games Beyond: Two Souls and Gran Turismo 6. Expect more publishers announcing price hikes for other titles in the coming future, as the dollar situation clearly doesn’t seem to improve.

The Rupee downfall will also largely impact the pricing for the upcoming PlayStation 4 console.

Grand Theft Auto V is set to release on the 17th of September, 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

UPDATE:

This just in, the price for the Standard Edition has been taken down a notch to Rs. 2,999, a Rs. 300 relief.

This rollback comes at a consequence of temporary stability in the Syria situation, which has led to a minor fall in the dollar price against the Indian Rupee.

The Special Edition prices will stay the same, although the final pricing is not confirmed yet.
