Need for Speed Rivals, the second installment in the fourth generation (the twentieth installment overall) of NFS games was recently announced by EA. The game is being developed by Ghost Games with contribution from Criterion Games (Developer for  NFS: Most Wanted 2012). The game uses the all new Frostbite 3 engine and promises a whole new level of driving with advanced graphics.

Some of the exciting features of NFS Rivals are:

All Drive – The line between the single and multi-player mode has been erased. You can play with your friends in the same game, same race and same chase anytime. All of you will be put in the same world of Redview County without any separate access or log in  and you might be able to chase your friend or just play along in the same team through the all new unique feature of All-Drive.

High-Stakes Rivalry – A new scoring system has been put in place which takes up your speed points for some rewards. A player can race as both cop and law-breaking racer and progress in career switching between the two sides. In the end, you can be the most deadly cop or a top of the underworld racer.

Next-Gen Racing – Frostbite 3 gaming engine, the latest iteration of the Frostbite series brings high level details and stunning landscapes of the Redview County to life. Weather will be  a natural tormenter with rain, snow, dust, hail and dust storms all being more realistic. A player can connect with the NFS network to alert friend of incoming cops or drop roadblocks. Everything will be more intense and detailed.

Your Car-Your Identity – This is nothing new and something we all love to do. Modify your car with most weird and awesome customizations available. A gamer will have the option to save various customizations separately.

Pursuit and Evasion Technology – Many high level tech toys will be available at the racers disposal. Racers have jammers and EMP to evade cops, whereas cops are armed with aggressive busts, shockwaves, roadblocks, helicopter support and many more. Build your car to be one step ahead of everyone.
