The recent revelation of Titanfall running at 792p on the Xbox One was a biggie. This is clearly no where close to the ‘next-generation’ gaming we were hoping from the Xbox One. Another bomb has been dropped and this one’s about how crap Titanfall looks and plays on the console.

Giant Bomb’s Jeff Gerstmann noted a couple of framerate drops while playing the final release version of the game.

The frame rate in Titanfall is uneven on the Xbox One and though it’s usually fine, it can get downright nasty in specific situations.

He went on to add how there were times when the framerate would drop to a miserly single digit framerate.

In one Last Titan Standing match–where every player spawns in a robot suit–several players crammed their mechs into a tight area and began duking it out, and the frame rate dived down to what must have been single digits per second. Even out in wider areas, the game feels a little hitchy from time to time, and there’s noticeable tearing throughout.

Forgivable? No. Forgettable, yes. If you bought Titanfall for the Xbox One, swallow this one up, time is the greatest healer. Respawn has gone official by saying that they will improve the performance of the game with time. But then again, Respawn also said that the final build of the game will run at 900p, we all know how that worked out.

And yet we linger on, like optimistic fools.

More so, Titanfall doesn’t even look that great. It is based on the 10-year old Source Engine, which has already been used to death by countless games, so there’s no way this is the graphical showcase we expected it to be. Not even on the PC, for all you people from the so-called “master race.”

Help me out here, Respawn and Microsoft. I’m begging you. My arms are still open (not in a gay way, not that there’s anything wrong with that). I’m now clinging on to this little bit of hope I have left, as I’ve spent a lot of it lately.

  1. I played the beta did not encountered any such problem. Let’s hope by the time titanfall hits India problem is solved.

  2. The so called “master-race” runs Titanfall at 1080p over 60fps.. The fact that it doesn’t look very stunning is b/c of the developers. Still a really fun game tho.

    • You are right. Even on pc with everything full game is not gorgeous, for me graphics are not that important game should be fun. Now the question is how will it look on xbox 360
