Ubilogo501Ubisoft released its end-of-quarter sales figures today just a few minutes back. These are sales figures for the fiscal quarter ending June 30, 2013.

Numbers reported for the first quarter of 2013-14 are €76 million (INR 595 crore), down 42.2% compared with €131 (INR 1026 crore) million recorded for the same period of 2012-13. The decline in sales could have been due to a few games released by Ubisoft in this time period. The same time period last year saw the release of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier.

Although down 42.2%, the sales figures for the first quarter were still above target, which was €70 million euros (INR 545 crore).

Not all is bleak for Ubisoft. They’ve witnessed a 56% increase in back-catalogue sales to €60 million (INR 467 crore), owing to sales performance of Far Cry 3, Assassin’s Creed 3, Just Dance 4, Rocksmith and Rayman Origins.

Ubisoft also reported a 27% growth of sales in the digital segment, to €34 million (INR 265 crore), mainly driven by sales of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger.

Ubisoft has placed massive expectations on sales in the second quarter of 2013-14 due to the upcoming releases of Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Rayman: Legends, with the target pinned at a whopping €200 million (INR 1557 crore), up 35% compared to the same period of 2012-13.

Along with these reports, Ubisoft has delayed the release of its upcoming new racing IP The Crew, to 2014-15.

Ubisoft is still confident about meeting its full year sales targets (2013-14) of a staggering €1,420 million (INR 11,000 crore).
