Uncharted is the reason I play PS3. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception brings a memorable adventure that satisfies in every way, which continues where Uncharted 2: Among Thieves left off. From the opening music on the title screen to the moment the credits roll, Uncharted 3 is a masterpiece.

The gameplay still revolves around climbing walls and shooting bad guys, but more refined. Combat is even more versatile than in previous entries, combining incredible shooting encounters with advanced hand-to-hand takedowns set in amazingly designed areas. When you need a break from the physical action, interesting puzzles allow you to explore your more thoughtful side.  Naughty Dog has done so much to blend the gameplay with the story, perfecting the pacing and making everything look fantastic in the process, thanks to cutting edge graphics and excellent cinematography. This is an experience, a complete package.

This game is another superb entry in Nathan Drake’s ongoing quest to find the world’s many lost treasures. And this character starts living inside you as if you are him. Drake, Sully, and the supporting cast have detailed animation that makes them almost look real, and their lively dialogue further builds their image. You can feel the tension during heated moments when threats are made and tempers burst suddenly. Naughty Dog created a world here that players feel connected with. They show backstories, they break bonds, and they make us face the characters worst fears.

The beauty of Drake Deception’s combat is that you can dispatch foes in a variety of ways, and all of them feel incredibly empowering. The levels are expertly designed and every level has something new for you to experience. Drake’s Deception is a cover based, third-person shooter and there are many exiting ways to kill your foes. The mechanics in Drake’s Deception have been refined even further from the previous game. Landing a headshot from far away with a sniper rifle is highly satisfying. The weapons are fun to use. Uncharted is at its best when the difficulty rises.

When the tale finishes, you can look forward to the multiplayer. The standard menu returns with Team Deathmatch, Elimination, capture the flag, etc., but adds bonuses known as boosters and kickbacks to enhance the experience. There are upgradable bonuses that you equip to make the multiplayer experience more your own. Uncharted 3 multiplayer feel fresh every time. You can play split-screen with two different PSN profiles which is rare on the Play Station 3.

I give 9.5/10. It is so hard to imagine this game being better. From start to finish, single player to multiplayer, this game rules. The characters, the graphics, the sound, the story – Top quality. You just can’t miss this game. You’ll laugh with joy and amusement, You’ll cry with excitement, and more than that, you’ll be thankful that you’re playing a game as beautifully and aptly crafted as Drake’s Deception.

  1. I can’t remeber the last time I felt such an affinity with a cast of imanginary characters, as I do with the Uncharted series. It has somehow become more than just a game, almost like a virtual family you interact with, manipulate and care for. You actually care what happens to them during their journey. Glad to see someone else sharing my enthusiasm for this incredible sereis.
