As part of Xbox One’s monthly update program Microsoft will adding a few new features to Xbox One to make your gaming life a bit easier. Once again the update will focus on bringing in the features which fans have been requesting from past few months. Here is the breakdown of the features.

Voice Messages – The team at Xbox is finally bringing voice messages to Xbox One. Players will be able to record, playback and send voice messages to their friends through the messaging app on Xbox One in snap mode. Microsoft notes that voice messages has been the most requested feature on Xbox Feedback therefore the release of the feature is going to make many Xbox One owners happy. Moreover you can further send voice messages to Xbox 360 owners as well. Nice to see Microsoft supporting cross platform services.

Dedicated Servers for Party Chat – Microsoft continues to improve the party chat for Xbox One with the support of dedicated servers. Players who earlier had problems with Party Chat due to NAT restrictions will now be able to connect with each other. In situations where players fail to establish a peer-to-peer connection will benefit from dedicated servers.
Note: Currently, this service is only enabled for parties where one or more members are enrolled in the Xbox One Preview program. Those preview consoles enable the service for their party chat sessions, even if some of the party participants are not part of the preview program.

What’s On – An already existing feature for U.S. Xbox Preview Members, “What’s On” highlights the latest television shows, Music, Movies and Games. Starting this month the feature will be available for Preview Members in Canada and UK as well. The ‘Staff Picks’ section has been now more personalized based on your recent activity.
