Namco Bandai today announced that prior to the release of Dark Souls 2 (March, 2014), they will release an official comic book (graphic novel) titled Dark Souls 2: Into the Light in January 2014.
Nothing has been said about the content of the graphic novel, although it has been confirmed that Into the Light will be set in the world of Dark Souls 2. Other details revealed is the creative team assembled to take the project ahead, namely writers Rob Williams (Ghost Ride, The Amazing Spiderman, Dark X-men, Star Wars Tales) and Andi Ewington (writer of popular 2009 graphic novel “45“). Williams and Ewington team up with Simon Coleby (Marvel, 2000 AD) who will provide the art work for Dark Souls 2: Into the Light.
Dark Souls 2: Into the Light is scheduled for release in January 2014. Dark Souls 2 will be released in North America on March 11, 2014 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, then in Europe on March 14. A Windows PC version is due shortly thereafter.
