I struggled yesterday with Undead Burg, dying multiple times. And this is my second play-through of Dark Souls, and still the game does it to me! Dark Souls is that kind of a game, I think I was needed to be reminded again to not take the game so lightly.
Finally I reached the next bonfire, after defeating the Taurus Demon. He was easy. Just got under him and keep slashing, haha! Also, I killed the knight in Undead Burg. I remember during my first play-through, I had immense trouble dealing with him, and only when I levelled up considerably, I came back to slay him. I found a Gold Pine Resin (lightening) one of the houses in Undead Burg, right before you meet the knight. All I did was apply the Gold Pine Resin to my dagger, and voila, the knight was easy-peasy.
How did I overlook this during my first playthrough? Now this got me thinking, the placement of items is so crucial in Dark Souls. The developers placed the Pine Resin just before you meet the deadly knight, so that you use your head and use the friggin item to slay the knight. During my initial play-through, I was greedy with my items, I barely used them. This time, I will use them more openly.
Also, at the bottom of the spiral staircase in Undead Burg lies a dreadful fatty who gave me a lot of trouble in my first play-through. I think I should try defeating him with a lightening dagger, I still have two charges of Gold Pine Resin.
Hope you enjoy the stream. Feedback is appreciated!
