Today EA announced a brand new subscription based model exclusively for Xbox One gamers. The gamers interested in the program can enroll with monthly subscription plans or yearly plans costing $4.99 per month and $29.99 per year (INR 300 and INR 1800). This is still no available to Indians, since the Xbox One is yet to launch in the country. Membership will grant you access to ‘The Vault’, a collection of EA games available on Xbox One for you to download and play. The service is currently in beta and players will be able to enjoy four full games: Fifa 14, Battlefield 4, Madden Nfl 25 and Peggle 2. EA has assured that more titles will be added soon.
Besides getting access to four games, EA Access members will also receive additional benefits.
- Awesome Value – Besides the games in The Vault, EA access members will get discount of 10% on purchase of digital titles. Discount will be offered on upcoming games like Dragon Age: Inquisition or NHL 15 in addition to membership services like Battlefield 4 Premium.
- Play First – EA access will let you experience trials of new EA games up to five days before the release date. It starts with Madden NFL 15, NHL 15, FIFA 15, NBA LIVE 15, and Dragon Age: Inquisition, but more are on the way. If you decide to buy the game, your progress will carry over so you can pick up right where you left off.
No information is available yet, of whether the service will make it to India or now.
“Soon, fans of GameStop will be able to purchase their EA Access membership in local retail stores. GameStop and Amazon will also carry EA Access memberships for Xbox One gamers across Europe, as well as EB Games in Canada.”
There was no mention about release date but EA says the service will be able soon for Xbox Owners currently it is exclusive to Xbox One. We’ll have to wait to see whether EA will announce the service for the Xbox 360, but I doubt it.
