Power Consumption
None of these power consumption results are overly dramatic. The Radeon HD 7950 draws less power than the GTX 760, but that is not the case with the 7970 against the GTX 770.
Noise levels and GPU temperatures
Our noise tests tell a different story from the benchmarks and power consumption tests. The GTX Titan style cooler in the GTX 770 works superbly, staying assassin level silent. I wish the same could be said about the GTX 760 cooler though. The 760 uses almost the same cooler as the GTX 660 Ti. Stress the card a little, and a rough hiss is clearly evident. This noise doesn’t register in our tests, which is funny, but the decibels are pretty much there, and that’s not a good thing. The Radeon HD 7990 shows higher numbers in our tests, but the perceived noise of the GTX 760 is louder.
Very immaculate. Very detailed. A good and comprehensive review. Doesn’t miss out on any details and yet manages to remain newbie-friendly.
Computer hardware always seems to overwhelm most users with its ‘perceived’ complexity, but with some patience, it is actually easy to get into.
Great review, but too bad the benchmarks do not cover the 1920×1080 resolution for the general gamer…
thanks for the feedback, will consider for our upcoming gpu reviews
