An organization of Nvidia’s stature obviously places weight on their words, and that is why believe them. But is that always the case? We hope not. We SO want to believe them this time, and ‘hope’ that they’re right.

The company’s senior IR director Chris Evenden, in a recent earnings call, spoke these Godsent words, exactly as transcribed:

“The PC market is evolving, as entry level laptops face pressure from tablets. Yet sales of specialty PCs like gaming systems and work stations continue to grow. The disparity reflects how consumers use these different classes of PCs. Many consumers look for PC as a general purpose device they can use for browsing, email, social media video. But much of this can be better served by a tablet.”

Yeah, that’s generic corporate talk, but he still has more to say, wait for it…….

“In contrast, gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin’s Creed IV.”

Now, it can be possible that Nvidia is just assuming that GTA V will eventually make it to the PC. Which is already true, as we know. But then again, he’s bang on correct with the mentions of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Assassin’s Creed IV, so, who knows…

Putting the pieces of the puzzle together, the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto V coming to PC this fall are extremely high. VG247 reported in May that a German retailer’s listings mention the PC version of GTA 5.

A job listing on Rockstar’s official company page mentioned that they were looking for “a talented graphics programmer to help bring our latest titles to the PC platform.” (the listing has since been removed). “Working together with the other Rockstar studios, you will be responsible for maintaining the studio’s uncompromising quality bar, delivering the highest quality PC experience possible,” the listing continued. It also referred to “working with skilled developers on Next Generation games.”

Amazon France also listed a PC version of GTA V, which has been removed now, just like it has been removed from a handful of German retail listings. Something’s fishy in here.

We want a GTA 5 PC version, and we want it NOW. Over 1,75,000 people have signed a petition asking Rockstar to release a PC version soon, rather than 8-10 months later of its console release. The GTA IV PC version was released 8 months after the release of its console counterparts, and following this trend, we shouldn’t expect GTA V PC to release well before mid-2014. Lets hope that is not the case.

Summing up, there are many signs that a PC version is coming, and its coming soon. Nothing has been made official by Rockstar though. What do you think? Should we hope the GTA V releases in 2013? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

PS: Rockstar will be showcasing the multiplayer gameplay of GTA V tomorrow (August 15), so stay tuned on iLLGaming to see what its all about.

  1. A PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 will definitely come through. However, I don’t think it will be any time soon. Rockstar knows that releasing a PC version of GTA V would probably have a negative implication on sales. PC games are some of the most highly pirated on the internet, so this remains to be a threat to video game developers. It is no wonder Rockstar has decided to release GTA V for current generation consoles first. This way, they get to sell enough copies upon launching the game and then earn back the capital that was used to develop and market GTA V. A PC version will most likely be developed next year. Those are just my speculations!

    • Yeah. How about these people signing a petition asking Rockstar NOT to release GTA V for PC, now that is just lame.

Really hope they do release a PC version next year.
Same goes for Red Dead Dead Redemption.
