IGN

IGN Entertainment, one of the most popular game review and info sites out there on the Internet, was sold to Ziff Davis’ parent company, J2Global, who confirmed that it had acquired IGN from News Corp.

News Corp. had purchased IGN for $650 million in 2005, but reportedly put the company up for auction to the highest bidder for only $100 million over the past six months.

Fans of the site would certainly hope that the change in parent company wouldn’t affect any of the reviewing staff. Supporters of IGN may recall some of its lists (arguable/contentious) as its high-points while others may recall its 3/10 review of Clover Studio’s cult classic God Hand as one of its many low points.

Either way, we hope for the best for the staff of IGN and hope nothing changes because of this.
