iLLGaming GAME OF THE YEAR 2015

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Sahil Arora:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the Rig Veda of video games. Its a saga. An legendary one at that. Geralt, the Witcher’s journey has never been so well put together, so well told and so well experienced. I wont even talk about the great graphics, the great optimization, the phenomenal production and mind blowing attention to deal. To me, The Witcher 3 is simply, the best means to live and breathe as Geralt the man himself. That’s what it is. This is not a game. This is not an RPG. Its Geralt’s journey through the times. And everything built around just works beautifully. Its my Game of the Year, and that too, by a tangibly large margin.

Chirantan Raut:

This was my first experience with The Witcher series and I had plenty of teething issues before I familiarised with the quirks of the game. Perhaps the most attractive thing about the game was the Gwent minigame and the detailed open world. It was a new experience for me and certainly deserves to be my Game of the Year.

Subhadip Sen:

The Witcher 3 delivers on every promise the previous games in the series pioneered – a vibrant yet murky world full of colourful characters with a wicked sense of humour; a dynamic story where the tiniest actions have consequences, often dozens of hours later. Disappointingly, unlike previous games in the series, the final act of the main quest does slide into cliche, where it not for which this would have been my game of the year, much like The Witcher 2 was in 2011.

Tathagata Ray:

Witcher 3 demanded some time, it was huge in terms of its lore and quest areas, and so I gave it straight 2 months before I beat the main quest. That’s the most time I spent inside a single game, because the game was the perfect open world fantasy RPG since Dragon’s Dogma. Geralt felt like a character who was in full control of its portrayal, along with the introduction of the new generation for the franchise – Ciri. Witcher 3 checkboxes everything you’d ever want in an open world fantasy game – quests, beasts, dynamic weather, lore that links up every single act, items and finally the fact that it allowed you to decide the fate of the Witcher legacy basis on the tiniest of dialogue options you chose to perform. If anyone ever senses a problem with Witcher 3, make sure to go see the doctor.

Anikait Makkar:

Having no prior experience in witcher franchise I was sceptical about my purchase however as stepped in shoes of geralt of rivia all my worries were put to rest. Even though it was my first adventure in the world of witcher, the game welcomed me with open hands explaining and giving details about each and every character i met during my adventure yet leaving with a sense that all this was part of a bigger world. Coming from a fps,tps background never I have seen a game with such rich story telling and deep involvement of characters. The only turn off for me was it’s combat which at times felt a bit unbalanced and left me with a mixed feeling.
