As the Indian economy rebounds from the aftereffects of an inflated American Dollar, in what comes as a pleasant surprise, it has been announced that the upcoming NBA 2K14 will be priced at Rs. 499 for the PC version.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will be priced at Rs. 2,999 respectively.
Rs. 499 roughly equals USD 8, and we can be sure that NBA 2K14 is available the cheapest in India for the PC version.
A Rs. 499 price tag for a brand new PC title is unimaginable in this day and age. To refresh your memory, remember when Grand Theft Auto IV PC launched for Rs. 499 in India, a price the buyer appreciated a lot? Well, that was roughly FIVE years ago. And we talk about inflation.
It’s good to see e-Xpress Interactive Software Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor for 2K Games in India, giving way for affordable pricing for PC games. This is exactly what the country needs.
On a different note, David Stern, the NBA Commissioner has always been vocal about the promotion of NBA basketball in India. Could the reasonable PC pricing be an initiate by NBA to promote basketball in country? If yes, then that is a good thing, but this is just mere speculation.
Also, gamers pre-ordering the game will receive the King James Bonus pack as an incentive. This is available only for the console versions though.
NBA 2K14 launches on all platforms on the 1st of October, 2013 and will be available across all major retailers and e-commerce stores.
