If you were not satisfied with the sea battles in AC III, if you wanted to do more pillaging at the sea and have a little freedom in the gameplay, then AC IV looks like the game for you. Based in the year 1715, when pirates rule the Caribbean, a young Captain named Edward Kenway (Grandfather of AC III’s Connor Kenway) moves out into the open sea to make his mark.
Ubisoft has been developing this game since the past two years and finally it is in its final stages. They have tried to retain the bloodline to which Desmond Miles belonged. The war between the Assassins and Templars is threatening to destroy the Caribbean, as the assassin pirate Edward Kenway is achieving hero status. He is shown as a selfish, greedy pirate captain who joins the Assassins who have a conflicting ideology.
AC IV is about how Edward will fight his way to become the most feared pirate in the seas. The gameplay includes both land and sea based missions with around 40% of the action happening on water. The missions contain both land assassinations and ship battles; there are also bonus missions, hidden treasures and maps to be found in the game.
The game covers over 50 locations in the Caribbean including the beautiful towns of Cuba, Havana, Kingston etc. Edward and his ship Jackdaw will fight many battles over several levels to become the top pirate lord of the Caribbean. Te ship can of course be changed and a higher level ship will be needed for a higher level mission.
