Display specialist company ViewSonic has officially launched the VX2785A-2K-PRO-3 monitor in India. Barring the tongue twisting and long model number, this monitor offers a literally unbelievable set of features at an even more unbelievable price. Most features offered by the VX2785A-2K-PRO-3 are almost exclusively reserved for monitors that cost 2-3x the price of the ViewSonic. Don’t believe us yet? Wait till you read the feature list below.
First and foremost, you get a 27-inch IPS matte screen that supports 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. IPS displays have much vibrant colours, better contrast ratios and better brightness that TN panels, which flood this price point of monitors. Being an IPS panel, the monitor is able to achieve a 130% sRGB coverage, making it ideal for content creators and consumers alike. Secondly, you get a display that support 240Hz refresh rate. That means that you can game upto 240 frames per second, which will be a boon if you’re into competitive gaming. Just make sure you have the hardware that allows you achieve those number of frames. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080/SUPER is a great GPU for gaming at a steady 240 fps. If you’re rocking an AMD Radeon GPU, the monitor supports FreeSync for smoothening out the frames.
The ViewSonic VX2785A-2K-PRO-3 also gives you a response time of 1ms. This is as good as it gets when it comes to latency, and this speed is mostly reserved for high-end gaming monitors. This means that the lag between the input and response of the monitor is kept to a minimal. The three features mentioned above already make the ViewSonic VX2785A-2K-PRO-3 a great buy at ₹21,000, but it is not done yet. The monitor supports HDR10, meaning it can achieve high levels of brightness in specific sections of the display to create a more realistic image. This also means that it will support HDR content on Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV, and games. HDR is a great feature and a must have in 2024. In order to support HDR content, the monitor must be able to have a high contrast ratio and brightness. The VX2785A-2K-PRO-3 has a contrast ration of 80M:1 and a peak brightness of 300 nits. HDR generally is reserved to high-end/luxury displays, and it is great to see ViewSonic offer HDR at a very approachable price point.
In terms for connectivity, the monitor gets two HDMI 2.1 (TMDS mode) ports and a DisplayPort 1.4 port. This means that you can connect either a PC and/or a PS5 or Xbox Series to the monitor. It misses out on Thunderbolt/USB C ports but asking that at this price range is being greedy. Design wise, the monitors gets a clean minimal layout, with thin bezels on all sides of the screen except the bottom side. You get a triangular metallic stand to mount the ViewSonic VX2758A-2K-PRO-3.
All of this is available at a price of ₹20,990, available on Amazon and other major e-tailers and retailers. At this price, this monitor is an absolute steal.
