We revealed Watch Dogs’ minimum PC requirements a while back, and they weren’t that bad. To refresh your memory, here they are:
- Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66Ghz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.0Ghz
- Memory: 6GB RAM
- Video card: 1024 VRAM DirectX 11 Shader 5.0
- Sound Card: DirectX9
- Hard drive: 25 GB
Watch Dogs just got its own Steam page, where the recommended PC requirements are listed, and they’re insane. An eight core processor as a recommended spec is ridiculous, and for a game that doesn’t look that great too. The GPU requirements though are quite generic:
Recommended System Requirements
- OS: Windows Vista (SP2), Windows 7 (SP1) or Windows 8 (Please note that we only support 64 bit OSs.)
- Processor: Eight core – Intel Core i7-3770 @3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 X8 @ 4 GHz
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: DirectX 11 graphics card with 2 GB Video RAM – Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 ti or AMD Radeon HD 7850
It’s really surprising why the requirements are this high. The visual quality of Ubisoft’s recent Watch Dogs videos is a notch down from what they showcased at E3 – 2013, so that makes us wonder even more.
So if you’re anticipating Watch Dogs like we are, I guess its finally time for the that upgrade you’ve been holding yourself back for.
Oh, and by the way, Watch Dogs may have a Steam page, but the game still requires UPlay on the PC.
Watch Dogs releases on the 27th of May.
