Speculating next-generation console names is one thing I don’t trust myself with. I did at first, but with the coming of the ‘Wii’ and ‘Wii U’, and with next Xbox being codenamed ‘Durango’ (which is really silly) I said to myself, ‘Don’t stress yourself, holmes, it’s just one hit-and-miss amongst the many you’ve had.’
There are still a couple of days to go for the next-gen Xbox unveil (May 27), so all speculation will be put to ground then. In the meantime, International Business Times reported that ‘Xbox Infinity’ is the confirmed name of the next Xbox, the source of this information they’re not naming.
I got in touch with the Microsoft PR to confirm this, and the reply I got was expected, of course. “Microsoft does not comment on rumour and speculation.” Gah!
