EA has planned to reveal six new games at its E3 press conference, to be held on the 9th of June, one day before E3 starts.
Spike TV’s Geoff Keighley tipped us off on Twitter about this revelation.
What games EA will showcase at its press event is a mystery. EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed to Eurogamer that Star Wars: Battlefront, being developed by Battlefield dev DICE will be featured at the press event.
A NEW STAR WARS GAME
Amongst the contenders for the other five games, there’s a high probability that one is going to be FIFA World Cup. Then there’s also a chance EA might tease The Sims and Dragon Age. “The way we’re filling that hole is essentially new titles along the lines of FIFA: World Cup, UFC, a golf game, The Sims and Dragon Age. I would say that fills about two-thirds of the hole and the rest of the hole we would assume is being filled by this new, unannounced game” says the publisher.
“We’re highly conscious of the crowded slate in the back half of the year. What that means is it’s gotta do great and it’s got to do really well, particularly on the new generation. The box is going to have to be unique. I think you’ll see all of that at E3 when you get a chance to see the game.”
Summing up, here’s what we predict EA will announce:
- FIFA World Cup
- Star Wars: Battlefront
- Dragon Age: Inquisition
- UFC
- ‘a golf game’
- ????
