Unboxing
The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti comes in a standard box. There’s no bells and whistles here. just what is required. The package includes a Gigabyte Driver CD, two 6-pin power connectors, and an installation manual. It’s a straight-forward package.
Two 100mm fans sitting on aluminum fins form the cooling system of the card. The heat sink’s length exceeds that of the card itself. Micro-ATX owners might have to do a little tinkering inside their cases to get this card to fit. We don’t think that the size is still big enough to cause problems to micro-ATX owners; you will do just fine.
The PCB of this card uses the standard blue colour, which has been Gigabyte’s trademark. Not that it matters, but the colour doesn’t really combine well with black motherboards, which is the general standard today. Some things but never change!
The casing of the heat sink and the fans is longer than the card itself. It doesn’t go to waste, though, since the VRM gets a dedicated heatsink for itself.
Gigabyte provides the card with two DVI connectors (dual-link), one HDMI, and a DisplayPort connector (all full size). The card is PCIe Gen 3.0 compatible. Going from PCIe Gen 2 to Gen 3 doubles the bandwidth available to the add-on cards installed, from 500 MB/s per lane to 1 GB/s per lane. Gigabyte definitely is using their own customized PCB.
