Win 10 brings DirectX 12 (Free upgrade*)Windows_Product_Family_9-30-Event-741x416

Windows 10 is set to launch soon and was the biggest announcement in the Microsoft conference because of its immediacy and impact on PC gaming. Ever since the first announcement Microsoft has repeatedly mentioned their focus on the OS and its potential for gaming. Giving away the OS for free sounds like a very compelling reason for gamers to update their OS. Plus with the added technology of DirectX 12 and the PC version of Fable Legends coming in the first wave of games from Xbox One to PC sounds like a great idea. Much remains to be seen about the OS though. I personally would recommend anyone to wait to see its performance before jumping the ship. *The free upgrade is for one year from the launch of OS for any existing win 7, 8.1 or Windows phone users.

Stream Xbox games to your PC

Also announced is the Feature to stream Xbox games to your PC. Why would anyone want to do that is a wired question? Maybe this would be useful when you may want to play certain games in your bed on a less powerful laptop but I see very little practical ability to this feature. Yet it’s there and we don’t mind it much as long as it doesn’t break anything else in functionality.

About me: A collector, I hunt for stuff that was missed. I’m the guy who goes into a music store and asks the staff if they have some secret music cd in the backroom storage closet. My life ticks away while I watch anime, reading fictional novels or stalk Wikipedia for information completely useless to me.
