In a press release published today, NVIDIA officially announced the launch of the second GPU in of the GTX 7xx series, the GeForce GTX 770. This news comes amid the launch of the GTX 780, which was last week. The official pricing revealed by NVIDIA for the GTX 770 is INR 29,990.
The GTX 770, like the GTX 680, is based on the GK104 graphics processor. Infact, the GTX 770 shares many of the GTX 680’s key specifications. Although the reference GTX 770 will feature faster core and boost clocks, which are 1046MHz and 1085Mhz, respectively. Memory speed has also been cranked up to 7 GT/s. The increased clock and memory speeds have taken their toll on the power requirements of the GTX 770, which has gone up to 230W, compared to 195W for the GTX 680. On a lighter note, the reference GTX 770 looks exactly how the GTX 780 and the GTX Titan look, with that lustrous aluminum casing, which we like.
Here’s how the GTX 770 compares to its younger/elder brothers:
We’re yet to receive our review sample so we can’t really say on how these numbers translate in performance, but one thing is evident, the GTX 770 has a slight upper hand than the GTX 680. And considering that the GTX 680 costs around INR 33,000, compared to INR 30,000 for the GTX 770, that’s really not a bad deal.
As mentioned earlier, the GTX 770 includes the same premium fan of the GTX Titan and GTX 780. So that also gives us signs that the card might runner cooler and quieter than the GTX 680. This almost puts the GTX 680 in a redundant position. There is no actual point in going for the GTX 680, unless the lower power draw is something really important to you.
We’ve also managed to hustle out the variants of the GTX 770 to be manufactured by NVIDIA’s partners. We’re not sure whether any of the variants will launch in India or not, we’re waiting for that information ourselves. We don’t have any information on their international pricing also, yet.

As of now, we don’t have our benchmark sample of the GTX 770, and that is actually a good thing because we sort of have our hands full with the GTX 780 and the GTX Titan. I know I know, the GTX Titan was launched a while back but NVIDIA just sent it to us very recently (don’t ask why). On the contrary, we’ll still try to benchmark the GTX 770 as soon as possible and share our results.
