Some time ago in a Neogaf thread, images of the next Dues Ex were leaked. It was soon after that the May Cover of Game Informer magazine revealed Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. No release date has been revealed yet.
This is a follow up to the excellent Deus Ex: Human Revolution, that marked the resurrection of the Deus Ex series by Eidos Montreal. Human Revolution remained true to the original’s player choice-driven gameplay, but that doesn’t change the original Deus Ex’s position as one of the greatest games ever.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is set in the year 2029, two years after the events of Human Revolution. We will see Adam Jensen returning as the protagonist, this time powered by an Interpol-funded task force to hunt down and capture augmented terrorists. The attitude towards transhumans in the world of Mankind Dividend is negative, making Adam Jenson feared and hated amongst people. There are new augmentations to enhance Jensen while keeping the same player choice-driven gameplay where stealth, combat and social interaction can be used to tackle situations.
While all of this is based on 3rd party forums and magazine announcement, the official Deus Ex Facebook page announced that there’s going to be an announcement today about “the future of Deus Ex.” The time would be 8th April 2015, 9:30 pm Wednesday, IST.
Here is a tweet by the official Dues Ex account:
