Codemasters, the developers of the Formula 1 racing simulation F1 series, today in a press release announced F1 2013. Along with the announcement, they put together some screenshots and a trailer.
F1 2013, as expected, will feature all the drivers, circuits and cars from the 2013 season. You can also play as Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes or Sergio Perez in his McLaren-Mercedes car. All the rule changes in the race-sport have been implemented in the game.
For the first time, F1 2013 will include a classic mode, which lets you drive as any of the drivers from the 80s. This mode is supported by the commentary of the legendary Murray Walker. Some racers present in the classic mode are Nigel Mansell, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, Gerhard Berger (to name a few). You can race in the Circuit De Jerez and Brands Hatch circuits. The classic mode will allow you to play in split-screen too. Online modes are obviously included.
The F1 series is known for its lifelike simulation of the F1 sport, and this is further stressed in the 2013 version. You can pick from a choice of classic Ferrari, Lotus and Williams cars, complete with old-school handling.
For players new to the series, Codemasters has further expanded the Young Driver’s Test mode. Newcomers can begin by learning the nooks and crannies around Abu Dhadi’s Yas Marina circuit. It is not sure whether India’s very own F1 circuit, the Gautam Budhha International Circuit will be included in the game or not. But it is worth mentioned that all circuits from the 2013 season will be included, and India’s circuit was also a part of the season.
The game will be launched in two editions, Standard and Classic, and will be released this fall. Stay tuned at iLLGaming for the latest information on F1 2013.
