Microsoft has finally revealed the much awaited Forza Horizon 2, earlier there have been numerous rumours and reports about the game but today it is official. The sequel to the award winning 2012 arcade racer Forza Horizon will be coming this fall. No official release date has been announced. The good news is that game will be available for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 users. It is nice to see Microsoft supporting the ageing Xbox 360. The game will be developed by Playground Games, Turn 10 studios and Sumo Digital. Forza Horizon 2 will run on the same engine as Forza Motorsport 5 on Xbox One but on the Xbox 360 the game will run on the original Forza Horizon engine. Playground games is responsible for Xbox One version while Sumo Digital is responsible for the Xbox 360 version, with Turn 10 helping both the studios.
“[Turn 10 and Playground] share this belief that we can create a true home for racing fans on Xbox One,” said Horizon 2 creative director Ralph Fulton. In making the leap to Xbox One, Forza Horizon 2 will include hundreds of cars, according to Playground Games, headlined by the 2015 Lamborghini Huracán. A long-awaited weather system will also make its Forza debut, while Forza 5’s Drivatar system is also being adapted for Horizon 2.
Recent rumours pointed out that game will take place in bayous of Louisiana, but today all these rumours were put to rest. Playground games have confirmed that game will take place in Sourthern Europe. Fulton describes the setting as “incredibly diverse” with “amazing vistas.” Music will be an integral part of the game and the music festival will the central event around which the game revolves.
