The LG UltraGear Showdown delivered a nerve-wracking competition. It was put on by the Esports Club, which put forth 15 of the best female CS:GO players. The competition was preceded by three teams of five players each, called Team Alpha, Team Charlie, and Team Bravo.
The three teams competed against each other to win a lion’s share out of the prize pool of INR 1,50,000. It was a two-day event which commenced on 21st December 2022 and successfully concluded on 22nd December 2022.
Format of the Gameplay
In the group stage, each team played each other twice, following a double round-robin schedule. The two best teams advanced to the finals. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka represented their respective regions in the competition. Distribution of the tournament’s prize pool continued as follows:
- First position gets ₹1,00,000.
- Second position gets ₹50,000.
All of the matches were best-of-1 game and each team played the other twice to reach to the winning position. On the first day, Team Bravo won the championship title by defeating Team Charlie in the finals.
About the Grand Finale
In a thrilling Grand Final, the two sides battled it out over a best-of-three series. Each team put up their best possible lineup for the contest at hand. On Day 2, Team Bravo was fantastic and did quite well. After suffering an early setback, Bravo bounced back to win two consecutive games and won the championship by a 2-1 margin.
With this, Team Bravo was officially crowned champions and awarded the grand reward of ₹1,00,000. As the runners-up, Charlie’s team received ₹50,000.
