Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare released on Xbox 360 and Xbox One this week to something of a surprisingly warm reception. Good news as it seems more content is on the way and if reports are to be believed, for free.
Speaking to Digital Spy senior franchise marketing manager Gary Clay said that Popcap plan to “expand the gameplay experience significantly” by taking a look at the playerbase: “We will be listening to the community for the types of content they want to see, and then we’ll continuously update that.”
While he didn’t give any specifics of what sort of additional content might be forthcoming, Clay did confirm that plans would take into consideration “anything you’d expect from a third-person shooter” but to “expect a big PvZ spin on everything, don’t expect the standard elements you’d get from most games. It’ll be focused on humour and things that are very different.”
Clay also confirmed to Digital Spy that Popcap is now divided into a “mobile” and “HD” division, with the latter made up of former EA Black Box employees who are concentrating on new console and PC projects, including “working on updates for Peggle 2” as well as some “new IP”.
