After months and months of speculation that led to nowhere, we finally have something that proves that Red Dead Redemption’s PC version might be a true thing.
NeoGAF user Lazaro posted a thread on the website, citing Windows Compatibility website’s listing of Red Dead Redemption. The website shows applications that have been submitted to Windows, to be certified compatible if the app fulfils Windows certification requirements. RDR is on the list because obviously, the game has been submitted by Rockstar for certification on Windows, what other reason could there be?
Being specific to the game, Red Dead Redemption appeared with various compatibility statuses for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. Any app can only appear on the list on Windows Compatibility if it is submitted by a developer, or by Microsoft testing, both of which stand true for this case.
The game has been removed from the list now, maybe it did get the certification it wanted?
Previous hints to a possible PC RDR was when Rockstar Games was hiring a graphics programmer to bring its latest titles to the PC platform (Source: VG24/7). No specific game was mentioned, but it is a hint nonetheless.
Red Dead Redemption is considered by many as Rockstar’s pinnacle achievement, and that is quite a laud, considering GTA and Max Payne are also a part of the Rockstar lineup. If you own a PS3 or an Xbox 360 and haven’t played the game, suggest you go do it now. Read this if you want some convincing.
I’m a PC gamer majorly, and RDR is one game I really want on the PC. I have played some bits on the consoles, but I prefer the PC. Don’t ask me why, thats just the way I was raised!
Also, fans of the game are desperate for an RDR 2, writer T.Ray (a huge fan of the game) wrote about what he wants from a possible RDR sequel.
PS: GTA V PC version too Rockstar, please.
