Currently, Temple Run 2 must be the number one reason for low mobile and tablet batteries around the world. The storm has barely subsided. But Imangi Studios are in no mood to rest, they are ready with their next launch, “TR: Oz the Great and Powerful,” inspired by Disney’s upcoming movie of the same name. The game has been developed in collaboration with Disney, much like their previous work, TR:Brave, which was also very successful.
The new game will revolve around the plot and the characters from the movie, due release March 8. But the game will be released before the movie itself on Feb 27. It is safe to assume that this game will be available for both Android and iOS enabled devices, but we can’t be sure of a WP8 or, a now available, BB10 launch.
Out of the currently existing Temple Runs, TR:Brave is the only paid game. Hence, it won’t be a surprise if a similar price tag is labelled on the upcoming game as well.
Will this game be a similar success story remains to be seen. TR:Brave was released almost 10 months after the launch of the original Temple Run, giving the players something new to play with; but TR2 will only be 40 days old when this game hits the app stores, and why would people go for a paid game when TR2 is free and fresh, unless they have a very good differentiator (i.e. playing with Mila Kunis).
The title of the game is still not final, and the release dates for Google Play and Apple’s App Store might differ. In the meantime, check out all about the movie on IMDB (PS: The three witches are looking hot, and for the ladies, there is James Franco too).
