Indian cricket super star Virat Kohli will soon be joining other cricketing legends like Don Bradman, Shane Warne, Sachin Tendulkar in having a game title developed using their names. Nazara Technologies, a mobile game developer and publisher featured on Google’s Play Store, has signed a deal for the same with Virat’s managing agency CSE (a sister concern of Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment Pvt Ltd) which will last 3 years. Under the exclusive deal, Nazara Technologies will have sole rights to develop, distribute and market games featuring the cricketer across digital platforms including mobile, Web and DTH.
Kohli also shared his excitement saying:
“Millions of people in the world over spend hours playing games on their smartphones. When the idea was put forth about creating a Virat Kohli game using my animated character I naturally felt its a great idea; another innovative way for me to connect with my fans and thank them for their continued support. I can’t wait to see the final product that my team creates for me,”
The games will soon be available across mobile and digital platforms across the globe. It is expected to be free to play. While he stars in his own game, Kohli has already been present on the Play Store as the face of Royal Challengers Bangalore cricket team’s official app. Unofficially, there are a few apps that are housed outside Google’s managed store such as the “Virat Kohli, The Champion” app on android.informer.
