OpTic beat Entity Gaming in a thrilling, nail biting collision.

OpTic India beat Entity Gaming, who were the winners of last year’s eXTREMESLAND India Qualifiers

For a team that was formed just two months ago, this is a great stepping stone for OpTic into the big league. Not just that, Entity Gaming is (erm..was) one of the best CS:GO teams of India. They have good experience under their belt, including a handful of big international tournaments. Losing to a two month old team certainly won’t hit them in the right places. Well, to their credit, the final match provided a thrilling treat to the spectators, with nerve wrecking moments sprinkled all over its course.

Now, OpTic India will represent the country in the finals in Shanghai, to be held on October 18-21. Winning the finals will net them a neat $100,000 (INR 70,00,000). If OpTic manages to win the finals, they will be the first Indian team to do so. This is only the third time India is participating in the eXTREMESLAND finals.

16 of the best CS:GO teams from all over Asia Pacific will be competing for the $100,000 cash prize in Shanghai.

The road to winning the Indian Qualifiers wasn’t a straightforward one. The semi finals consisted of experienced teams, Team Brutality, Slaughter Rage Army, Entity Gaming and OpTic India. These teams were picked through offline LAN events held in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar and Jaipur.

The entire event was sponsored by BenQ and Zowie. The semi finalists and finalists, all took home flashy Zowie competitive gaming gear. Zowie also showcased its upcoming range of competitive gaming gear, the Zowie XL2546 240Hz monitor, Celeritas II keyboard and EC1-B, EC2-B gaming mice.

“Over the years, the eSport Gaming industry is steadily growing and looking at the level of participation this year in the tournament is a proof that the eSports industry in India is booming and gaining mass popularity across the world.”
