Marshall is broadening their wireless speaker range, and have now entered the lucrative portable speaker market with the Marshall Middleton. This news come slightly after Marshall launched the third generation of their famous Bluetooth and wireless speakers, the Acton, Stanmore and Woburn speakers.
The Middleton is much smaller in size, and resembles the likes of JBL Flip, Sonos Roam and Bose SoundLink Flex. They are meant for on-the-go and outdoor listening. Its dimensions are 109 x 230 x 95 mm, and weighs 1.8 kilograms.
The design of the Marshall Middleton is unapologetically Marshall, with the signature Marshall logo beholding the front of the speaker. And just like other Marshall speakers, the Middleton does feature a bass and treble controls. The speaker comes with IP67 dust and water resistance, meaning you can use them in the shower, on the beach, in the festival mud or by the pool.
The Middleton uses four Class D amplifiers, rated at 20W and 10W. The rated battery life stands at an impressive 20+ hours on a single charge. The speaker can be recharged to full battery in 4.5 hours. The Middleton can also connect to other Middleton speakers to work in tandem. It also features reverse charging, meaning you can charge your devices using the speaker as a power bank.
Priced at ₹31,999, the Middleton is placed as a premium product when compared to its siblings from other brands. Is the price worth the Marshall tag? We will find out when we review the Middleton.
