Ubisoft today, from an update on their official twitter account announced Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, to be formally unveiled on 4th March.

“We will be announcing all the details of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag on Monday March 4 at 6pm CET,” was the tweet.

The tweet was accompanied by box-art of the game, which will be launched for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC. The PS3 will once again receive 60 minutes of additional content. The box-art shows a new blonde-haired protagonist aboard a pirate ship. The new game will be a continuation from Assassin’s Creed 3.

Assassin’s Creed 4 will be based in the Caribbeans. Surprisingly, Ubisoft Montreal is not the studio working on this title, since as claimed by Ubisoft, the Montreal studio is busy with the development of Watch Dogs, its highly anticipated new IP. Assassin’s Creed 4 will be released in the next financial year.

Well, so it seems, the Assassin’s Creed franchise yet lives on, even after high speculation that Assassin’s Creed 3 was the last in the series. We hope AC4 will implement new gameplay mechanics and a compelling storyline, to avoid ‘burnout’ . Overdoing, a thing we’ve come to expect from Ubisoft, wouldn’t do anyone good.

Here’s the box art.
