SSD technology is finally heading to external storage drives, and HyperX, Kingston’s gaming arm is paving the way with the launch of Savage EXO.

HyperX Savage EXO uses 3D NAND technology, which means, less power usage and more durability. HyperX claims that the Savage EXO’s read and write speeds are 10 times faster than that of 7200RPM generic hard drives. The read speeds claimed are 500MB/s and write speeds are 400MB/s.

The Savage EXO uses USB 3.1 Gen 2 technology, and can be used with PC, Mac, Xbox One and PS4. It weight 54 grams only. The drive will be available in two capacities; 480GB and 960GB.

HyperX is offering a 3 year warranty on the Savage EXO.

The external drive will be available at retail stores for a price of ₹ 15,999 and ₹ 30,599 for the 480GB and 960GB models respectively.
