Shunning a long running speculation once and for all, Sony has finally come up with a date of the PlayStation 4’s launch. The PS4 India launch event will take place in New Delhi on the 18th of December, 2013. The launch invite sent to the media said:
The event will be hosted by Kenichiro Hibi (MD, Sony India), Robbert Fisser (VP, SCEE, Middle East, Africa, Turkey and India) and Atindriya Bose (Country Head, PlayStation India).
This is for the Game-Ghangers, the Rookies and the Veterans, the Soldiers, the Survivors, the 3AM Fathers and the Multiplayer Motor Mouths, the Trophy Collectors, the Button Mashers, the Once-in-a–while Assassin’s and the Dedicated Strikers. This is for those who want to leap into the game in the blink of an eye, for those who refuse to be boxed in, for those that are Divided in Battle, but United in Play, this is for the Collectors of Next Level Secrets and the fans of Jaw Dropping Graphics, for those that want the Power and Freedom to play Anytime, Anywhere, this is for the Innovators and the Creators.
It is at this launch event that Sony will detail the exact availability and pricing of the PlayStation 4 in India. Sony might also detail some bundles.
Ever since launch day, the PS4 has sold more than 2 million (20 lakh) units worldwide. Expect the PlayStation 4 to be in short supply in the country, as confirmed by Atindriya Bose. Sony says the PS4 will come under steady supply “a couple of months” after its launch.
There is still no information available on the Xbox One launch date in India.
