Because its cool to be exclusive, right?

Its finally here, and lets hope that this time its here to stay. Amazon India’s Xbox One Pre-order page just went live.

Amazon India says that the Xbox One can be pre-ordered ‘exclusively’ only through Amazon. That means no other retailers can offer the console on pre-order. However, Game4u’s website still lists the Xbox One pre-order offer. We are yet to confirm the validity of the page.

PlayStation 4 had a big launching in India and was available for pre-order through leading retail chains in the country. The Xbox One has opted to go exclusively with Amazon, meaning the likes of Flipkart, eBay etc. won’t be having the offer. The PS4 was available through a lot of off-line retailers too. The Xbox One won’t be getting the same treatment. These are 2 very contrasting methods of business by Sony and Microsoft. One opts for options while the other for exclusivity. Its no surprise that Sony’s consoles sell way more than Microsoft’s.

You might wonder, why are both the consoles priced almost 50% higher than they are in the US and Europe? We did a poll asking our readers whether the 40k rupee price tag was satisfactory or not. The results were staggering but expected. About 70% people say they’re unhappy with the pricing. Obviously, everybody knows the international pricing of the consoles, having to pay more for buying officially in country is ridiculous!

Will you be pre-ordering the Xbox One from Amazon or are you getting it from somewhere else? Let us know in the comments section below.
