Ubisoft exists. And Ubisoft Motion Pictures exists too. Bet you didn’t know that.
Ubisoft Motion Pictures is making an Assassin’s Creed movie, and it’s release date is pinned at May 22nd, 2015. That’s about exactly 2 years from now. The film will cast Michael Fassbender as its lead actor. I this name doesn’t ring any bells, he’s the guy who plays Magento in X-Men: First Class. He also played a nice role in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds as Hicox.
The film will be co-produced and distributed by New Regency and 20th Century Fox. Sony Pictures, who also bagged the deal for the Angry Birds movie, were in talks with Ubisoft Motion Pictures bu the deal brokedown because of supposed ‘Strict requirements on the deal by Ubisoft’.
Asaassin’s Creed is a big franchise, with multiple games bearing the name, and all selling in millions. The content present is so much that many sequels could be made of the Assassin’s Creed movie. But the depends on the success of the first movie.
