Mohammed Ibrahim qualified for SIM Racing World Cup Final

It is another proud moment for India that one of our bright young sportsmen has qualified for the prestigious SIM Racing World Cup Final. Mohammed Ibrahim secured his position in the finals of this tournament by finishing second in the Asian Continental Qualifiers.

SIM Racing

Sim Racing, often known as simulated racing or racing simulation, is a subgenre of racing video games that aims to recreate the experience of driving a race car down to the smallest detail. In order to compete at a high level in sim racing, a driver must have a thorough understanding of all the aspects of car handling that make real-world racing challenging, including threshold braking, maintaining control of a car as the tyres lose traction, and entering and exiting a turn in such a way as to maximise speed.

This degree of challenge separates sim racing from arcade racing-style driving games, where the focus is on creating a sensation of speed rather than realism and where real-world variables are removed from the equation.

Ibrahim Aced the Race

With a lap time of 1:33.575, Ibrahim was just few seconds behind Thanathip Tanalapanan, Thailand’s player who secured the top position with the lap time of 1:33.561. Another Indian player Davlish Singh came at the sixth position finishing the race at 1:34.026. There were a total of 14 players from across Asia competing in the qualifiers for the two top positions. Our Indian participants already have in their kitty the titles of NESC22 (Simracing), the Indian National Qualifiers which were held in a hybrid mode at Esports Federation of India’s (ESFI) multiplex partner INOX’s Megaplex, Malad, Mumbai.

“Since my childhood, I’ve been fascinated with racing cars, which developed into a passion for motorsports. It is a surreal feeling to qualify for the grand final of the SRWC. I feel glad to have carried the momentum in the qualifiers after winning the NESC and hope to do so in Monaco as well. It is going to be a challenging experience to compete with the best sim racing drivers from all over the world. I will be working on a few minor things to improve my gameplay and perform at the highest level to make my country proud in the finals. Racing is my goal and vision, wish to excel in both Sim as well as on Real Motorsports, and always look for opportunities and support.”

Ibrahim

Ibrahim has also won the titles of Isolation E Championship, McLaren Logitech G Challenge, US F4 Kcr Championship, and Ultimate E Championship.

About the SIM Racing World Cup Final

The continental qualifiers had participants from 41 countries across the world, where Ibrahim succeeded in finishing fifth globally, only behind three European contenders apart from Thanathip Tanalapanan. On the 23rd and 24th of October, the championship race will take place in Monaco, with Ibrahim competing among 11 other great drivers for the title.

Together with the Monaco Esports Federation, the International Esports Federation is putting on the very first Sim Racing World Cup. Assetto Corsa, one of the most well-known and widely played simulation racing titles in the world, will be featured in the competition.

India’s Participation in the World Cup

“Ibrahim has made the entire country proud by making sure India is one of the countries that contests in the inaugural Sim Racing World Cup final. Both Ibrahim and Davlish performed brilliantly against the top drivers from the Asia region. This is a huge achievement for the sim racing community and another step towards further growth of Esports in India. Everyone at ESFI wishes him the best of luck to win the championship.” said Lokesh Suji, Director of ESFI and Vice President of the Asian Esports Federation.

Both Artsmith-Concepts & Visions and INOX continue their support for this pioneering tournament in their roles as the communication partner and venue partner of the Esports Federation of India (ESFI), respectively.
