Ray tracing is great. Ray tracing has been the biggest graphical technology leap in recent years. It has transformed the way games look, thus enhancing the immersion and visual experience. If you’re a #pcmasterrace guy, you’re probably guilty of building a system just to check out (and brag) the latest games that support the latest technologies, without having any inclination to play them.
DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) is great too. If a game supports it, we’re definitely using it. The results of DLSS are great crisp images without a noticeable hit in performance. Just try DLSS on games like The Witcher 3 or Dota 2, crank the slider to 4K on your 1080/1440p monitor and see the difference it makes to the sharpness of the image. Also, check out this demo of the game Black Myth: Wukong that utilizes both ray tracing and DLSS. The results are superb!
To be able to use features like ray tracing and DLSS, you will need an Nvidia GeForce RTX or a Radeon RX 6000 series graphics card. DLSS is exclusive to Nvidia GeForce RTX. You even get better ray tracing performance on Nvidia GPUs compared to AMD. This is the reason why Nvidia GPUs are more popular than AMD.
