Paper Rex in Valorant India Invitational
Congratulations to the winning team – Paper Rex

Valorant India Invitational comes to a glorious conclusion with the Singapore-based team Paper Rex bagging the winning title and USD 50,000. Team Heretics secured the second position and received USD 20,000 as the prize money.

Paper Rex displayed a great show for their audience by defeating their Spanish counterparts by 3-1 score in the best-of-5 clash.

We are very happy with the performances of every team, especially the Indian teams who went toe to toe with their international counterparts and gave their best. Congratulations to Paper Rex on becoming the winners and the amazing victory, we hope to see more such teams competing again in India soon.” said Siddharth Ravishankar, Chief Gaming Officer, Galaxy Racer.

In the nail-biting first match, the Singapore team prevailed 13-11 over its rivals to advance to the finals. While Team Heretics did manage to claw their way back into the game by winning the second game, the eventual winners’ resolve did not waver as they recovered from behind to win the third and fourth rounds by scores of 13-10 and 13-8, respectively, and declared victory and the championship. Following victories in the VCT Stage 1 and Stage 2 earlier in 2022, this was Paper Rex’s third significant Valorant success of the year.

Eight of the best teams in the world showed up to the Valorant India Invitational, making it one of the biggest tournaments in India this year and the first international LAN Valorant tournament ever staged in Southeast Asia. The event also marked the first-ever combination of esports and music thanks to a partnership with Sunburn, Arena.

GodSquad, the only Indian team in the Valorant Champions Tour 2023-24, beat Bleed Esports and Boom Esports in the group stage but lost the semi-finals due to game difference. Semi-finalists Bleed Esports and Team Secret also won USD 10,000 each while the remaining four teams namely Enigma Gaming, Rex RegumQeon, Boom Esports, and GodSquad received USD 2,500 to appreciate their performance in the championship.

Looking forward to more such tournaments taking place on such a massive scale on the Indian grounds and iLLGaming will be readily available to bring it all to you. Stay tuned!
